The tragic death by shooting of Tejano singer Selena caused a resurgence within the Latino community which can be likened in the wake of the deaths of Elvis Presley and John Lennon. An enormously popular singer throughout Latino communities throughout North America her music crossed cultural boundaries to touch the lives of children as well as old. Selena has been called by some as a Latina Madonna, however she's still an excellent example to follow.
